If you are looking for a practical breakdown of how to make the best of Fable 5 this weekend, I recommend Greg Isenberg's episode "You're using Fable 5 wrong."
Fable 5 has been out for a few days. The takes are already everywhere, but I find almost none of them useful. Most of the respected AI voices give you a readout of a benchmark score, or a fantasy test scenario no one would actually encounter.
This one is different. Practical tips and tactics you can apply with Fable:
• Be vague on purpose. This is the real alpha. Older models needed precise instructions. Fable works better when it has room to think for itself and figure out what you actually need.
• Give it a role with stakes. A skeptical CFO pushes harder than "give me feedback."
• Ask it to find what is wrong, not just what is right. Adversarial framing gets the honest answer.
• Upgrade what you already do. Mock interviews and negotiation prep are not new. What is new is that the pushback is finally sharp enough to change how you walk into the room.
And a few scenarios from the episode, if you want to try it out for yourself:
• Copywriting tournament — 5 AI judges (skeptical CFO, midnight founder, competitor, ideal customer, conversion copywriter) score 8 versions and merge the winner
• Hire Fable to kill your company — red-team your own business, mine your churn data and support tickets for what is actually broken
• One-page operating manual — feed it years of notes, get back one page on how your company actually runs
• Negotiation simulator — you could prep before, but now it is effective enough to be worth the hour
• 80-page second opinion on contracts — it reads the tables and buried schedules you never get to
• Make Fable build its own tools — have it create the custom prompts and workflows it needs to help you better
One practical note: Fable 5 is included in existing plans until June 22. If you want to test it at full strength without watching a token meter, this is the window.
Which one are you trying first? Drop it below, I read every reply.
