What it replaces.

The rewrite from scratch. The AI gives you something competent and bloodless, and you end up retyping it in your own words anyway. The time you saved on the draft you spend on the repair.
Explaining yourself every session. Telling it to be less formal, drop the bullet lists, stop opening with "I hope this finds you well", every single time, in every new chat.
The voice drifting across your team. Three people prompting the same tool three ways, and your company sounding like three different companies depending on who sent the email.

The starter prompt.

Find three things you actually sent: one email, one post or proposal, and one short message. Not your best writing, your normal writing. Open a fresh Claude or ChatGPT session, paste this, then paste the three pieces after it.

Below are three things I actually wrote. Study them, then write "my-digital-voice.md": a one-page style file that teaches an AI to write as me.

Cover: my sentence rhythm, the words and phrases I reach for, what I never say, how I open and close messages, and how direct I am. For every trait you list, quote the exact word or phrase from my writing that proves it; if you cannot point to it, leave it out. Flag anything unusual most people would not do: a repeated word, a punctuation habit, how my sentences start or end. End with three short before/after pairs: a generic AI sentence, then the same thing in my voice.

Write it so I can paste it at the top of any AI chat and the next draft sounds like me.

Make it stick.

Test it on one real thing before you trust it. Take an email you already sent, ask for it again with the file pasted on top, and compare. If the second version still is not you, the file is describing you rather than quoting you. Send it back and ask for evidence for every claim.
Keep it where you can paste it in two seconds. A note pinned in your notes app, a file in your drive, a saved snippet. A voice file you have to go looking for is a voice file you stop using by Thursday.
Add to it when you catch a correction. Every time you rewrite an AI draft, look at what you changed. That edit is a rule you never wrote down. One line added is worth more than a rebuild.

This is the piece everything else leans on. Once the file exists, every other workflow on this site inherits it: the brief sounds like you, the follow-up sounds like you, the deck notes sound like you. Build it first and you only build it once.
