Role play: you're the AI, it's the human. Have it interview you.
Why? Only you know why you're turning to AI, and how the thing's usually done. So make AI dig that knowledge out of you.
How? Require AI to ask you questions before it does anything. Claude and ChatGPT do this natively with "AskUserQuestion" and follow-up questions.
When? More often than you think you should. I overuse this. Help yourself to generous servings here. Use it at the start of any discussion, brainstorming, building.

Don't make things complicated, start with this at the top of your next prompt:
"Before you do anything, interview me. Ask me questions one at a time about my goal, how I do this today, and what a good outcome looks like. Don't start working until you've asked at least 5 questions and I say go."
Once you've done this a couple times, then turn it into a skill, update that skill, make it part of your process.
